Carter County Fiscal Court To Hold Special Session Wednesday (July 1, 2020)

The Carter County Fiscal Court will meet in SPECIAL SESSION Wednesday July 1, 2020 at 1:30 via Zoom.

Tres Hermanos Nunez - July 4 Fireworks and Celebration in Grayson "This year, it has to be bigger."

It began a few years ago with a small group of family and friends with a few fireworks to set off on the 4th of July. It has since grown to be a community-wide gathering with free food, fireworks and festivities, attracting a crowd estimated in the thousands. This year's celebration will be the biggest ever, according to founder Misael Nunez.

Local cabinet makers Jamie Branham and Tony Collier are finishing up a custom set of spaces for concession stands at the new Grayson Sports Park.

A second peaceful protest in Grayson Sunday (6-13-2020) was initially dampened by rains, although people who support the "Black Lives Matter" movement were soon able to express their thoughts through chants, signs and personal testimony.

Inside Carter County's "Old Jail"

The old Carter County Jail, located behind the former courthouse which still serves houses county offices including the health department, has been mostly used for storage in recent years and also contains lots of props leftover from the "Haunted Jail" event which was held there for several years.
